ECT Euromax intake station

On Maasvlakte, we are constructing a 66 kV intake station. This facility is a critical part of the energy infrastructure required to enable the shore power system for the ECT Euromax terminal. The new intake station will be connected to a converter station that adjusts voltage and frequency levels, making shore power suitable for vessels at berth.

We are working together with Heijmans on the preparation and construction of the grid connection station. Heijmans closely collaborates with project partners Cordeel, responsible for the civil design and construction works, and Stedin, responsible for the electrical installation.

Leo Ruijs, CEO of ECT: ‘The development of shore power aligns well with ECT’s objective of becoming emission-free by 2035. ECT customers can make use of shore power facilities during their visits to our terminals, which fit seamlessly within the philosophy of our logistics concept’.
